The Slavonic Dances are a series of 16 orchestral pieces composed in 1878 and 1886 and published as Op. 46 and Op. 72 respectively. Originally written for piano four hands, the Slavonic Dances were inspired by Brahm's own Hungarian Dances, and were orchestrated at the request of Dvorak's publisher soon after composition.

The pieces, lively and overtly nationalistic, were well received at the time and today are among the composer's most memorable works, occasionally making appearances in popular culture. This publication includes three dances, scored for 6 C flutes, 2 Alto flutes, Bass flute,and Contrabass flute.

This charming and popular piece was written in 1887. Obtaining its rhythm from the slow processional Spanish court dance of the same name, the Pavane ebbs and flows from a series of harmonic and melodic climaxes, conjuring a cool, somewhat haunting, Belle Epoque (French for "Beautiful Era") elegance. A typical performance lasts around seven minutes.

Johannes Brahms: Andante Moderato from Symphony No. 4 (arr. Ben-Meir)

The Andante Moderato has been described as "a procession in the moonlight". The opening statement in unison is written in the Phrygian Mode, which gives it a solemn, archaic quality. It evolves into a theme with a pensive but stately air of a requiem. The contrasting second theme, broad and simple, is considered to be one of the loveliest and most expressive melodies that Brahms composed. The flute orchestra version is arranged for six C flute parts, two alto flutes, two bass flutes and a contrabass. Increasing the number of players in each section will give added depth to the full and rich sound of this arrangement.
