IGLFA 2009 The Official Gay Soccer World Championship - The End of Regular Registration is at Midnight April 15, 2009!
Are you still waiting to make your plans? Are you still waiting to decide which gay soccer tournament you will attend this summer? Are you just not sure what you want to do? The time for waiting is over! As the clock strikes 11:59PM EST on April 15, 2009, regular registration for IGLFA 2009 will be over! What does this mean? It means that late registration will begin, and the price to register for the tournament will go up.
IGLFA 2009 registration fees are as follows until April 15, 2009
Individual Registration - $140 - goes up to $155
Team Registration - $2200 ($122 per person for a team of 18 players) - will no longer be available
Non-player Participant - $60- stays the same.
While the registration price will go up to $155USD, the Official Gay Soccer World Championship is not only the tournament that will have the most team and diverse competition, but it is also the most affordable week long gay soccer tournament to attend this year!
IGLFA 2009 is THE GLBT Soccer (football....futbol) Event of 2009. We now have 24 mens teams registered! We've heard this week that the Sydney Rangers are working hard on getting their team together and there are two teams from Mexico trying to finalize their fundraising. We've said it before, and we'll say it again - Don't be a part of just any sporting event....Be The MAIN Event!

Did you upload your photo when you registered?
The organizers of IGLFA 2009 need your help. One of the most important steps in preparing to welcome hundreds of soccer players from all over the world is to getting ready for registration and check in. We want to ensure that this process goes as smoothly as possible. In order to do so, please ask yourself if you have uploaded your photo when you registered for the tournament. When you come to check-in / registration for the tournament, we will be handing you your player badge - that must include your photo.
If you didn't upload your photo when you registered, you can still do so by going back into your registration and adding it. If you have not registered yet, please make sure that you prepare and upload your photo when you do register.
Important information about your photo:
File must be a .GIF or .JPG image; maximum file size is 10MB.
We will be going through all registrations and asking for photos to be sent in ahead of time. If you do not send in a photo in advance, that just means it's going to take longer for you to get through the check-in process.

Why are YOU attending IGLFA 2009?
IGLFA 2009 wants to know why you are attending this year's Official IGLFA World Championship.
Introducing Billy Kennedy from the Sydney Rangers in Sydney, Australia.
Q: What is your name?
A: Billy Kennedy
Q: Age
A: 37 (the perfect age for a keeper)
Q: What do you do for a living?
A:I'm an Operations Manager for Australia's favorite airline.
Q: How long have you been playing soccer (football or futbol in most of the word)?
A: My mum says I was born holding a football (and I haven't put it down since). I have spent most of my life terrorising defence's, although it's mainly been my own. Being a keeper, I am a little loud.
Q: How many IGLFA Tournaments have you participated in?
A: Washington will be my second. I played in Chicago and loved it. Unfortunately 2 shoulder reconstructions have kept me sideined since, but I have dusted off my gloves and am ready for more.
Q: What is the biggest factor for you deciding to come to IGLFA 2009?
A: My best friend pursuaded me to go to Chicago as he knew how obsessed I was with soccer. He's no longer with us but I know he would be saying the same thing to me now that I am injury free again, so I'm kind of doing it for him. On a less sentimental note I am also chasing the holy grail! I am an Englishman living in Sydney and I can't wait any longer for my national team to win a trophy. It's a great tournament that provides a safe fun environment in which to play. Not to mention competitive!
Q: What are you looking forward to most at IGLFA 2009?
A: The whole experience, and meeting some more great people. Being so far away from the rest of the world Sydney can struggle to get a team together. In Chicago I played for San Francisco. I had the best time and met a great group of guys. Sydney is struggling again with the numbers so I may be looking for a team. We may well end up combining with another team, but that depends on the interest. I already have a few options just in case, which just shows the attitude of teams in the tournament. It's all about acceptance.
Q: Is there anything else you'd like to share?
A: Just to those people reading this who don't have a team but want to play. Take a chance and join another team. It's an amazing experience for any football (sorry, I mean soccer) player.
