Important Information for Visitors Coming to IGLFA 2009 from Outside the United States!
This information is specifically for IGLFA 2009 Participants that are traveling to the tournament who are not residents of the United States. This is very important information - and more information can be found under the Travel & Accommodations section of the IGLFA 2009 Website.
Traveling to the United States has been made easier for countries in the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). There are currently 35 countries that participate in this program. Visa Waiver
Program travelers are required to apply for authorization through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). VWP travelers are screened at their port of entry into the United States, and are enrolled in the Department of Homeland Security's US-Visit program.
Not all countries participate in the Visa Waiver Program and not all travelers from VWP countries are eligible to use the program. Please visit the US State Department website to see if you qualify.
VWP travelers who have been admitted under the Visa Waiver Program and who make a short trip to Canada, Mexico, or an adjacent island generally can be readmitted to the United States under the VWP for the balance of their original admission period.
Citizens from Canada and Mexico are not participants in the VWP. Citizens of Canada are exempt from the Visa and Passport requirement of the Immigration and Nationality Act. To enter the US, a Canadian citizen must be able to establish both identity and citizenship. Documents that may establish citizenship are; birth certificate, citizenship certificate and passport.
In general, a citizen of Mexico must have a passport and nonimmigrant VISA or Form DSP-150 (also known as a "Laser Visa"). Form DSP-150 is a biometric, machine readable, B1-B2 Visa/border crossing card that maybe used to enter the US from within the Western Hemisphere. If coming from outside the Western Hemisphere, a passport is required.
If you are traveling from a country that requires a Visa, please remember to apply at least 90 days before traveling to the United States. The IGLFA World Championship Soccer Tournament is registered with the Business Visa Center. To help aid in the application process, please submit your name and team to the IGLFA 2009 Organizing Committee which in turn will submit the information to the US State Department. In addition, IGFLA 2009 will be preparing a letter for individuals to submit with their Visa applications. Look for additional details in upcoming newsletters.

IGLFA 2009 Womens Tournament to be 11-A-Side Format
The IGLFA 2009 Organizing Committee is pleased to announce that it has been decided the IGLFA 2009 Womens Tournament will be an 11-a-side format.
The IGLFA 2009 Organizing Committee came to this decision after receiving a lot of questions from womens' teams all over the world. As it is that there is another major womens soccer tournament being hosted during the summer of 2009, and that tournament will be a 7-a-side format, we came to the conclusion that many women are seeking a full 11-a-side tournament.
We have already confirmed at least 5 womens teams will be participating from within the United States. We also understand that there are many teams that are interested from outside of the US, but may not be able to form full squads. We are committed to making sure that anyone who wants to participate in this tournament will have a team to play with. If you fall into this category, please don't hesitate to regsiter now during the early registration process under the "Individual Player Looking for a Team" category.
If you have any questions, please contact IGLFA 2009 Womens' Tournament Director, Melanie Lilliston melanieiglfa2009@gmail.com
