Change has come to America! The refrain is still ringing in everyone's ears in the days after the inauguration of President Barack Obama, but one thing that has remained dependable is the wide array of LGBT cultural offerings and entertainment options in Washington, DC--even if its presence hasn't always been broadly acknowledged.

The festivities surrounding the swearing-in have demonstrated that amply, with the most visible example being the "We Are One" concert at the on Sunday, January 18. The Gay Men's Chorus of Washington sang "My Country 'Tis of Thee" with Josh Groban and Heather Headley; Bishop Gene Robinson of New Hampshire (the first openly gay Episcopal bishop) gave the invocation before the concert; and the President-Elect specifically mentioned bringing "gay and straight" Americans together in his concluding speech. following the swearing-in, the marched proudly in the Inaugural Parade.

June 14th, go down to Pennsylvania Ave. to check out one of the largest Pride Festivals in the US - and arguably on the most powerful stretch of pavement in the country...from the White House to the Capital!
